إذن أميل للقول أن كتاب الرحيق المختوم كتاب تاريخي أكثر من كونه كتاب سيرة؛ لأنّه ينص الوقائع التاريخيّة من تاريخ العرب قبل مولد النبي محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام حتى وفاته، م��تمداً على النص السردي المتواصل، وهذا أفقده نوعا ما الحميميّة والدفء.
